Florida A&M University
Florida A&M University (FAMU) was founded on October 3, 1887, as the State Normal College for Colored Students. Today, FAMU offers 62 bachelor’s degrees and 39 master’s degrees. The university has 13 schools and colleges and one institute. The university also offers a juris doctor at its College of Law in Orlando. FAMU has 11 doctoral programs which includes 10 Ph.D. programs: chemical engineering; civil engineering; electrical engineering; mechanical engineering; industrial engineering; biomedical engineering; physics; pharmaceutical sciences; educational leadership; and environmental sciences.
With an enrollment of nearly 12,000 students, Florida A&M University is part of the State University System of Florida and is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

University of Florida
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is the teaching arm of the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences—a federal, state and local government partnership dedicated to enhancing the quality of human life by fostering knowledge of life science, agriculture, and human and natural resources. The college offers 24 undergraduate majors, more than 50 specialization areas and 20 graduate programs to nearly 4,000 students. CALS’ mission is to endow students with the foundation needed not just for gainful employment, but for a lifetime of citizenship, contribution and continued learning. UF has supported a local MANRRS chapter since 1988.
