Marketing (Parts & Service Sales) and Product Support professionals comprise two very distinct and significant roles in John Deere’s Equipment divisions through their work with John Deere dealers. A training program specific to each of these roles prepares candidates for the position of Marketing Rep through varied work experiences. This includes exposure to marketing, product support, the product lines, competition, product application, and many other aspects of John Deere marketing and/or Product Support. Additional training includes traveling with field managers or experiences with factory or corporate product support departments. This position may lead to such jobs as Area Manager Product Support, Area Manager Parts and Service Sales, Factory or Corporate Product Support, or Training Instructor.
The Internship Program is for students enrolled in major fields of study that align with full-time employment opportunities at John Deere. Students may enter the program during undergraduate or graduate studies. The majority of our internship experiences are offered in the summer months, usually lasting 13 weeks.

Job Description |
The six month research intern program is designed to give broad based exposure to the day to day activities of a breeding program. Interns in the program will be expected to participate in all aspects of the stations activities including planting, plot maintenance, data collection, and harvesting.
In addition, each intern will have an individual research project that will be presented in a group meeting at the end of the year.

Duties/Responsibilities |
The individual will be involved with field plot research, planting, plot establishment and maintenance, organizing and completing pollination, harvesting and analyzing samples, and data collection of traits important to a corn breeding program.
A key component of the position will be the collection of high quality data on specific traits of economic importance. The individual will be expected to travel to other locations as part of the data collection process.
As part of the program the individual will be expected to lead groups of co-workers to complete required tasks. |

Educational Qualifications Desired |
College Sophomore standing or above, majoring in Agronomy, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Genetics, or a related field. Farm background beneficial. |

Competencies and Experience Desired |
Individual must display a high degree of self-motivation, self-initiative and ability to work well with others.
Good communication and interpersonal skills along with strong computer aptitude are essential. |
 ConAgra Foods - Product Development Intern
The Product Development Intern will be a contributing member of a team that brings together leading-edge technical knowledge to spur development of new products and processes. He or she will gain insight to industry while assisting Professionals in studies and projects.
The Product Development Intern is a resource to the Principal Scientist in the execution of pilot plant tests and research studies. He or she will be mentored and receive as needed training as given new responsibilities.
The Product Development Intern will be capable of working in a collaborative environment demonstrated by sharing ideas, opinions and expertise.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory and pilot plant experiments.
- Exposure to manufacturing processes and equipment for periodic extended workdays.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs on a regular basis.
- Duties may include, but not limited to:
- Planning test sequences
- Ordering, weighing and assembling components
- Operating and assembling pilot plant equipment
- Arranging product shipments
- Sample preparation for laboratory analyses
- Operation of texture, color etc measurement equipment
- Document and maintain accurate and complete records relating to processing parameters, product attributes, weights, etc.
- Collect and organize data
- Format, analyze, and summarize data
- Maintain current and accuracy laboratory notebook
Knowledge, Experience, and Education:
- Food Science curriculum
- Completed coursework in food analysis
- Third or fourth year undergraduate student or
- Graduate student
